By now, we're all kind of used to Kanye West making ridiculously controversial statements and pulling over-the-top stunts. (Watch his 2009 attack of Taylor Swift, his multiple run-ins with paparazzi, the 2005 'George Bush doesn't care about black people' statement on live television' I could probably write a novel about these.)

Yeezus is back at it again, this time with a slightly different kind of outburst: insisting that he's just 'a married, Christian man with a family' and that the media needs to 'pick a new target.'

West, who's been known to vent to the crowd at his shows, went on a several-minute rant about the media during a concert in Australia this week. He called out several big-name reporters, such as Matt Lauer, for mocking his actions during a show last week. Kanye, a Grammy-winning artist, stopped his show last Friday because two fans in attendance wouldn't stand up' it turns out they were disabled. Oops.

West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, have been taking to social media to insist that he didn't actually single out the fans. Tweeting, however, just wasn't enough for Kanye, and an audience video of his nearly six-minute speech captured him actually making some pretty valid points.

Controversy and awkward moments aside, there's not much about West's personally that really deems him as newsworthy as the media says.

'Welcome to today's news, ladies and gentlemen. We've got' Americans being killed on TV, kids gettin' killed every weekend in Chicago, we have unarmed people being killed by police officers' it makes you reflect on things that are more sensationalized than others.'

While West has become a sort of legend for his antics, it's true that few things he does really warrant the type of attention the media has given him. Watch the video of his rant below, tell us what you think' and then maybe we should listen to Yeezus and move on to focus on bigger things.
