It was another busy weekend of sports at Lee University. The Lady Flames volleyball team was at home this weekend, while both the men and women's soccer teams went to west Tennessee to play Christian Brothers University and Union University.

The Lady Flames volleyball team hosted Mississippi College on Friday and won with a score of 3-0. The home victory was led by senior Lauren Williams by piling up 16 kills on 17 attacks. Williams had a .941 hitting percentage, which broke the school record of .875 that had been in place since 1998. Williams was not alone in the winning effort. Lady Flames Latrice Johnson and Patty Orozco both pitched in with eight kills each.

The Lady Flames did not take any time off as Lee faced the University of West Alabama Saturday, October 25. With a loss to the University of West Alabama earlier in the season, the Flames took advantage of the opportunity for payback with a 3-0 win at home. Williams finished up her great weekend in the game with a match high 13 kills. The Lady Flames' Sadie Johnson provided a match high 21 assists on the way to the win.

After the 2-0 weekend, the Lady Flames volleyball team improved their record to an overall 9-16 on the season. Their next match will be on the road Tuesday, October 28 in Carrollton, Georgia, against the University of West Georgia.

The Flames men's soccer team began the weekend on Friday night with a game against the conference's top team, Christian Brothers University. Christian Brothers University shut the Flames out and recorded a 2-0 victory, improving their winning streak to seven on Friday.

The Flames then traveled to Union University on Sunday, where they lost to Union 1-0 despite taking 27 shots on the night. The Flames have lost three games in a row, and have been shut out in all three matches.

The Flames look to rebound this weekend against Shorter on Friday, October 30th.

The weekend began for the Lady Flames soccer team in dramatic fashion on the road Friday in a game against Christian Brothers University. With nine seconds remaining in regulation, freshman Morgan Sandifer scored a game-winning goal, which gave the Flames a 2-1 victory. This was the first goal of the season for Sandifer.

The Lady Flames soccer team kept their winning streak going as they won their sixth straight game on the road against Union University. A 1-0 win against Union University gave Women's Soccer Head Coach Matt Yelton win number 300 of his career. Spangler scored her second goal in two games and the only goal of the match in the 34th minute of the game off of an assist by Cichowitz. Senior Flames goalkeeper Marbel Egwuena recorded seven saves in the match on her way to her sixth shutout of the season.

The men's and ladies cross-country teams of Lee University participated in the Sand Shark Invitational on Saturday, October 25 in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

The Flames men's cross- country team finished with 3 runners in the top 20, out of 303 total runners, on their way to a 4th place team finish out of the 37 participating teams. Flames freshman Harold Smith had a school record time of 24:58.26, finishing 15th for the event.

Lady Flame Jessica Childers led the way for the women's cross-country team's 9th place finish out of 37 participating teams. Childers set a personal record with a time of 18:12.71. A time that put Childers finishing 11th out of 347 total runners.
