Lee hosts annual 5k for cystic fibrosis

Lee University will be the location for the Great Strides: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's 16th Annual 5K run on Saturday, April 2.

Great Strides was created to raise money and awareness about cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that primarily affects the lungs.

Lee students and faculty are given the opportunity to support the cause by registering for the race.

Registration is free in the Student Development House as well as the DeVos Recreation Center.

Amy Marona, secretary for marketing and recruitment on the Student Leadership Council, indicated that there would be an additional competition for the various on-campus clubs to participate in.

'Students can donate money in their club's name and whichever club raises the most money will receive $500,' Marona said.

Another avenue of support is through the purchase of baseball t-shirts for $15, as well as posters which can also be found in the Student Development House.
