Marvel introduces Dr. Strange

Marvel introduces Dr. Strange

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has introduced another modern legend with Dr. Strange, which arrived in theaters on Nov. 4.

The solid leads of Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton ensure this movie is an instant Marvel classic.

Cumberbatch personifies Stephen Strange as he discovers his new powers to distort and shift reality. If you enjoy science-fiction superhero movies that ignite your imagination, this film will not disappoint.

Fair warning, this is a film established late into the ongoing MCU timeline. So I suggest brushing up on the Marvel movies and characters established thus far before watching this one.

The 3D version of this film is definitely worth the money. Normally, I prefer to see movies in the classic two-dimensional format; however, Dr. Strange’s kaleidoscopic effects and mind-bending dimension shifts are more captivating in the more immersive 3D presentation. The grandeur of the sound and effects will be wasted if you wait for this film to be released on Redbox or Netflix instead of going to see it at a movie theatre.

As a Marvel dweeb, I recommend seeing this movie as an entertaining escape from stressful studies and work. The film isn’t emotionally impactful, but worked perfectly as a fun ride to go on for an evening.

Not to mention, it is a great date-night movie. Granted, even if your date isn’t very into superhero movies, they still get to look at Benedict Cumberbatch for almost two hours.

Have fun at the movies, and be sure to stay for BOTH post-credit teasers!
