The men’s soccer team defeated the defending national champion Barry University on Tuesday night, with a score of 2-0. Midfielder Jared McWhorter, a junior sports management major, scored two second-half goals to lead the Flames to an outstanding win.

Goalie Daniel Hrenko had six saves in the game, including two point-blank saves in the second half to help seal the deal on the away team. This was Hrenko’s fifth clean sheet in six tries this season.

“It just shows that we can play with anybody, “ said McWhorter. “These next upcoming games all matter going into conference play. We just have to keep the flow going.”

The Lee Flames are on the road for their next game, playing Shorter University Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
