Welcome back to our fourth episode of the Story of My Life podcast.
Our guest this week is Dr. Carolyn Dirksen, an adjunct professor of English. Dirksen has spent over 50 years at Lee, where she has worked as chair of the Department of Language & Literature, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and vice president for academic affairs.
Now retired from working at Lee full-time, Dirksen and her husband, Dr. Murl Dirksen, are the namesake of Lee’s Dirksen Row, a female apartment-style dorm on campus.
In this episode, Dirksen reflects on her time spent at Lee, from the university’s growth to the recent announcement that President Paul Conn is slated to retire next year.
