The desire to escape into some quality entertainment is ever-present during the days of self-quarantine. If you find yourself longing for simpler times, look no further! Here are 10 great 2000s movies available to stream right now. 

1. “A Cinderella Story” (2004)

This 2004 teen romcom is a modern retelling of the classic fairy tale starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray. “A Cinderella Story” is a feel-good movie filled with sweet laughs and awkward teenage moments, available now on Netflix.

2. “Holes” (2003)

In “Holes,” Shia Labeouf’s Stanley Yelnats is sent to juvenile detention facility Camp Green Lake as punishment for a crime he did not commit. Based on the novel by Louis Sachar, this adventurous mystery movie is available for streaming on Disney Plus.

3. “Nacho Libre” (2006)

Jack Black stars in this movie as Ignacio, a cook at the Mexican monastery and orphanage where he grew up. When he learns of the monastery’s financial troubles, Ignacio decides to raise money by becoming a wrestler. “The Dark Knight” is the second installation of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy. This 2008 superhero film features a star-studded cast, namely Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker. This award-winning action-packed film is available for streaming on Netflix.

7. “Emperor’s New Groove” (2000)

Disney’s animated movie “Emperor’s New Groove” was a disappointment in theaters during its release in 2000 but quickly became a crowd favorite once released on DVD. This lighthearted comedy is about a selfish emperor named Kuzco who undergoes a physical transformation into a llama as well as a transformation of his character with the help of a villager named Pacha.
