Three Things for February 21

Three Things for February 21

1. Lee’s Administration releases a statement about the growing Prayer Vigil at the Stone Chapel

At 11:09 p.m. Monday night, students were informed by administration the Stone Chapel would be closed for corporate prayer throughout the week until next Monday, Feb. 27, putting a pause on the growing attendance of the prayer vigil that has been stirring within its doors.

Since 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, the Stone Chapel has continuously housed students and members of the community in prayer, worship, and ministry for a total of 126 hours.

“Often during intense times of ministry, Christ would call aside His team of disciples to replenish, regroup, and hear where the Father desired to send them next. In like manner, we believe the Father is calling us to pull away as leadership to discern His next steps for His work at Lee,” was part of the message sent to the Lee community via email.

Due to safety and logistical concerns, the administration has decided to take a break from prayer vigil in the chapel after Monday night’s gathering through Sunday, Feb. 26 in order to reconvene and devise a safety plan.
