Three Things for March 21

1. Trump indictment decision expected this week

The Manhattan grand jury holds the keys to a potential indictment of former US President Donald Trump, after hearing “evidence in secret” for the last several weeks.

If the jury decides to move forward with the indictment, it would mark the first arrest of a United States president in the country’s history.

“The grand jury has been probing Trump’s involvement in a $130,000 payment made in 2016 to the porn actor Stormy Daniels to keep her from going public about a sexual encounter she said she had with him years earlier,” the Assocaited Press reports. “Trump lawyer Michael Cohen paid Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, through a shell company before being reimbursed by Trump, whose company, the Trump Organization, logged the reimbursements as legal expenses.”

Per several media outlets, including the AP, law enforcement officials around the US have begun to prepare for the nationwide response to the potential indictment.

2. XXXTentacion killers found guilty

After a month long trial and eight days of deliberations, a Florida grand jury convicted three men of the first-degree-murder of rapper XXXTentacion.

Born Jahseh Onfroy, the rapper was killed in 2018 in a robbery attempt outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

“Michael Boatwright, 28, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24, were also convicted of armed robbery,” the AP reports.

“About an hour after the shooting, Boatwright sent a text saying, ‘Tell my brother I got the money for the new phone.’ Minutes after that, he sent someone a screenshot of a news story saying XXXTentacion had been shot,” the AP writes.

According to Florida state law, their April 6 sentencing hearing is merely a formality – those convicted of first degree murder are required to be sentenced to life in prison.

3. “Good Burger” sequel confirmed by Thompson, Mitchell

For those who have quoted “Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger,” since the film’s release in 1997, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have some good news.

According to the acting duo, “Good Burger 2” is in the works.

“It’s such a blessing man. It’s unbelievable,” Thompson said on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.” “We’re gonna shoot it this summer and it’ll be out soon.”

Thompson said on social media, “I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!”

“Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal!” he continued.

According to CNN, the movie is slated to release exclusively on Paramount+.
