Harrison Keely is pleased to return to the staff of the Lee Clarion this year as managing editor after writing for The Washington Times in Washington, D.C. last spring. In his youth Harrison remembers teaming up with his brother to write newspapers by hand and slip them under his parents' bedroom door every morning. With the help of his teachers, he started his middle school newspaper before going on to write for his high school newspaper and write weekly columns for his county papers. Last summer Harrison stepped in as editor of the Smoky Mountain Sentinel in western North Carolina. This is Harrison's fifth semester with the Lee Clarion and he is thankful to follow the footsteps of his father, who served as editor of his college newspaper. Passionate about everything to do with journalism from page design and video to writing and editing, and even photography and web technology, Harrison gives glory to God for the blessings he has been given.
