Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Sara Ortega
Dr. Sara Ortega is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and French and has been here at Lee since August of 2005.
Born in Barcelona, Spain, she was raised in France with her four other siblings. Ortega came to Lee due to a strong calling from God and has since “found a place where I feel complete.”
An interesting fact about Ortega is that she once lived with a mouse for a month and a half until the mouse was finally caught. She is deathly afraid of mice, cats, and squirrels.
Ortega’s favorite quote is by Milan Kungera, “without realizing it the individual composes his life according to the laws of beauty even in times of greatest distress.”
Her advice to college students is “don’t be scared for changes or to step forward when God gives you the direction to do so. He will take care of you.”
