Gateway hopes to give apple a run for their money
Gateway’s “One” has hopes of slighting some of Apple’s incredible revenue.
It seems Apple, who has been flowing out the ears with cash, might deserve such a wake up call.
The new One by Gateway carries a similar design that mirrors Apples sleek simplicity. Moreover, the processing power, speed and computing extras of the Gateway can compete with that of about a 20? iMac.
Processor
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7250 Dual-Core Processor
Intel® GM965 Chipset
Each Core Operates at 2.0GHz | Shared 2MB L2 Cache | 800MHz FSB
Memory
3072MB DDR2 dual-channel memory
Hard Drive
500GB SATA II (7200RPM, 16MB Cache)
Optical Drive
Slot-loading 8x DVD±R/RW SuperMulti Drive
However, the One does tally up a slightly higher bill than the iMac. One will set a buyer back a little more than $1,800.
But before all the iMac devotees throw their hands up in victory, realize Gateway does have one leg up on Apple.
True to a PC, the guts of the One’s system are accessible. The back panel can be removed, providing a totally customizable computer.
With this feature, there is no danger of purchasing a product that will simply be outdated in less than 3 months. As well you won’t be harassed with constant infrastructure updates like the Apple products demand.
For those people who enjoy building, personalizing and rebuilding their own computers, the PC may be the better way to go. The One has the capability of providing everything the user desires without the extras.
Beauty is skin deep no longer.
Now with One, the user can have complete control and endless upgrades along with the sleek, envied Apple design.
