Jordan Smith to return to Lee University for community-wide concert

Former Lee student and winner of NBC's "The Voice" will return to campus for two homecoming performances on Thursday, Feb. 18.

Smith, who previously studied music business, wowed the judges and viewers on season 9 of "The Voice," and although he has been in high demand since the season's conclusion, President Paul Conn managed to set up two 'welcome home' concerts with Smith.

On the day of his return, students and staff are invited to join Smith for chapel as he performs on the Conn Center's stage for the first time since his big win. In order to ensure sufficient seating, Smith's chapel performance will only be open to Lee students and faculty.

A celebratory reception will be held following the service for faculty and students in Walker Arena. Refreshments will be provided.

Later that evening, the community is invited for a second concert at 7 p.m. in the Conn Center. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert is a free, non-ticketed event

'We are thrilled for Jordan,' Vice President for Student Development and Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership Michael Hayes said. 'Those of us who have been fortunate enough to hear him sing in a variety of venues know how talented he is'he is a wonderful young man.'
