1. Walmart undergoes changes in wake of tragedies

President and CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon unveiled on Tuesday that Walmart will no longer carry handgun and short-barrel rifle ammunition.

Within the statement, McMillon also asked that Walmart customers would respectfully refrain from openly carrying firearms within its stores.

McMillon shared in a statement, “In a complex situation lacking a simple solution, we are trying to take constructive steps to reduce the risk that events like these will happen again.”

2. LeeU Boxing Registration

The LeeU Boxing Club is gearing up for the semester with an invitation for all students to join.

The boxing club offers a variety of packages for classes and opportunities to earn service hours.

Students can register for the boxing club at Five Point Boxing gym on Thursday, September 5, or Friday, September 6, at 6 p.m.

3. Latte in the Library

The William G. Squires Library is hosting Latte in the Library on Thursday, September 5, at 7 p.m.

The event will feature free lattes and allow students to engage in discussion with special guest Dr. James Wilkins. All students are welcome to attend.
