Coffee shops for studying

Exam season is quickly approaching, so here are some of Cleveland’s local coffee shops that offer a variety of study spots as the school year winds down.

Ocoee Coffee Company has plenty of couches and chairs along with a homey atmosphere. Multiple spaces can be used either for chatting it up in the Boathouse or for peacefully studying in the Garden Shed. Ocoee Coffee also has a diverse coffee menu, tasty sweet and savory pastries, fresh quiches, and free Wi-Fi. They’re located on North Ocoee St., and operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are closed on Sunday.

Another great place for studying is Simple Cafe, perfect if you're looking for structured seating, long-lasting hours and a friendly minimalist vibe. They serve brunch and lunch items like toast, wraps and quesadillas, along with coffee and smoothies. They also offer free Wi-Fi. Simple Cafe is located at 120 Stuart Road NE. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Searching for a mellow, chill, earthy vibe? First Bloom Coffee and Barkery is the place to go. It’s highly recommended for comfortable seating, low lighting, and an overall warm ambiance. Tasty pastries like cookies, croissants, scones, and muffins are available now, along with their Christmas menu. First Bloom is perfect for studying or grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend before break. Free wifi is available to customers. They’re located at 445 Church St. SE and are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Ruddles Bread & Book now offers a quieter, cozier, and maybe even mystical vibe as well as coffee and treats. Ruddles provides free books and fresh pastries, combined with comfortable seating, free wifi, and a quiet atmosphere for studying for exams. Their operating hours are Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They’re located at 241 Inman St. E.
