BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After a strong showing at the Swags Louisville Classic last weekend, the Lee University cross country teams swept the weekly awards from the Gulf South Conference. Ava Sparks and Pierre Chauveau were the GSC runners of the week for the women and men respectively. Meanwhile Lucy Hearn and Kylian Boulanger were the GSC freshmen of the week for the women and men respectively as well.
Both teams came in second place at a majority division one race. Both teams beat 13 D1 programs.
The Lee men posted the program's fastest average team time at the Louisville competition. Their average time of 24:05.5 cut off 13.1 seconds from the previous best of 24:18.6 set in 2024.
Pierre Chauveau was Lee's top finisher at No. 2 overall with a time of 23:42.2.
Kylian Boulanger finished 14th overall after stopping the clock at 24:14.5. His time was the fastest ever recorded by a Lee freshman at the Louisville Cross Country Classic.
Ava Sparks was Lee's top finisher at 17:21.0 to place fifth overall.
Hearn was the seventh finisher for Lee at 41st (18:22.6).
