Vindagua held their first pop-up shop of the semester on the Ped Mall from 3-7 p.m. on Oct. 19.

Before this semester's issue is released, the staff said they wanted to host the pop-up shop to sell Vindagua merchandise and get students more excited for the Vindagua's fall 2018 release. Junior digital media major and Vindagua marketing manager Jordan Crocker said he is thrilled to share his passion for the Vindagua with Lee students.

“At its core, the pop-up shop is simply a means for students to purchase Vindagua merch,” Crocker said. “However, it can also be used as an avenue for students to find out more about the Vindagua and to interact with the staff. With previous merchandise only being given away in small quantities on distribution day, this pop-up shop is one of the first opportunities for students to actually purchase the merch that they have long sought after.”

According to Cocker, the shop’s goal is to sell merchandise to students, give them free coffee and talk to them about Vindagua to give them a better understanding of what the publication does.

Senior public relations major and managing editor Savannah Stone said she wants the Vindagua to be accessible and tangible to students, and the shop was a way to bring the brand to students.

“We want campus to feel like they can meet and interact with Vindagua, so we are trying to create more and more events where our team can reach out and interact with students,” Stone said. “The pop-up shop is a fun way to get outside, meet new students, answer questions and sell some pretty fantastic merch. … They're the most affordable they've ever been, and the colors we chose actually reflect the color palette we're using in the Vindagua this semester.”

Stone said this pop-up shop is the first of many, aimed at building trust with the students and bringing awareness of the Vindagua to the Lee campus.

The later pop-up shops will be announced through social media and chapel announcements.
