Sigma Nu Sigma sisters on the club’s 60th anniversary

Homecoming 2026 is special for Sigma Nu Sigma, as the club celebrates their 60th anniversary. Sigma Nu Sigma was founded in 1966, making it one of the oldest Greek clubs at Lee University.

Their motto, “Love Never Fails,” has been at the heart of the club since the beginning. 60 years later, Sigma has grown into a sisterhood of around 50 girls who carry on the values and traditions that their club was founded upon.

While Sigma has grown and changed throughout the years, their foundation of faith, love, and lifelong friendship has remained the same. Their goal has always been to create a place where young women can grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and experience sisterhood.

As club president, Senior Raygan Brown says that being in the club has been one of the biggest blessings of her college experience.

“When I first joined, I never could have imagined how much this club would impact my life. What started as friendships quickly turned into something so much more. Through Sigma, I have gained lifelong friends who have become more like sisters to me. These are girls who have encouraged me, supported me, and walked alongside me through so many different seasons of life,” says Brown.

Brown has also held the positions of historian and vice president. She says that being a part of the club has also helped her grow as a leader.

“Each of these roles has taught me something different and has allowed me to give back to a club that has given me so much. It is such an honor to now serve as President during Sigma's 60th year and to be a small part of the legacy that so many incredible women have built before us,” says Brown.

Sophomore Ava Way is one of the club’s newest members. She says her experience in the club has already been quite impactful.

“Sigma has blessed me with an amazing community of girls who wholeheartedly love me and encourage me to be the best version of myself that I can be. I have found some of my closest and truest friends because of this club and for that I will be eternally grateful,” says Way.

Alumni Belle Owens says that being in the club was life-changing.

“I had the opportunity to make the best friends of my life and have grown as a person in ways I could never have imagined. Any club full of 50-plus girls will have its ups and downs, but it remains one of the most impactful experiences of my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world,” says Owens.

As Sigma Nu Sigma celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, the club’s legacy continues to reflect the values it was founded upon: faith, love, and sisterhood. From alumni who helped shape its history to the newest members, Sigma remains a place where women can grow together and build long-lasting friendships. Sigma Nu Sigma sisters of past and present can celebrate the anniversary at the club’s events this Homecoming weekend.
