1. Pastors host prayer march in Washington, DC

On Saturday, Sept. 26, thousands gathered in Washington, D.C. for a prayer march. New Jersey pastor Jonathan Cahn and Reverend Franklin Graham came together to host the prayer march. 

Event organizers claimed the event was not a protest or political event. Vice President Mike Pence made an appearance following Rev. Graham and addressed the crowd. 

The group walked the city, waving small flags, surrounding monuments, kneeling and praying for the country to heal. Others stood and listened to speakers talk and preach. 

The event was scheduled to pause at seven locations along the route, and participants were asked to “pray silently using the focus and prompts for each location.”

2. Trump and First Lady test positive for COVID-19

Early this morning, President Donald Trump confirmed he and the First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Trump tweeted.

Sean Conley, the physician to the president, said in a statement, “The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions. Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.”

According to AP News, the White House announced one of Trump’s top aides, Hannah hicks, tested positive for the coronavirus hours before Trump’s announcement.

3. SLC to host Sidewalk Showdown today 

The Student Leadership Council is hosting a sidewalk art competition this afternoon. Each team will consist of up to four people. All materials and food will be provided.

Each team will be given the same amount of time to complete their chalk art. The theme will be announced prior to the event. This event will take place at 5 p.m. at the amphitheater on the Sharp Pedestrian Mall. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.
