A very Cleveland Christmas: Things to do this holiday season

It’s that time of year. Mariah Carey is defrosting, and Spotify is preparing to unwrap. The holiday season is upon us, and each person is celebrating in their own special way. If you are looking for a way to celebrate Christmas, there are plenty of opportunities right here in Cleveland. Grab a group of friends, put on your cutest winter outfit, and head out to celebrate the season.

Christmas on the Square in Downtown Cleveland

Downtown Cleveland will become a winter wonderland at this year’s Christmas on the Square. The event will take place on Nov. 22, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Downtown shops will be open late, so you can get a chance to support local small businesses. Visitors can enjoy performances by the Cleveland City Ballet Rockets and the Dickens Carolers from Good Soil Theatre Company. At 6:30 p.m., the Community Tree will be lit at the historic post office.

The store will be hosting its Christmas Market on Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Grit & Grace offers various antique, artisan, and boutique booths. There will be Christmas decorations such as wreaths and ornaments, as well as many other items, like baked goods, handmade bags, candles, and jewelry. There will also be food vendors. After visiting vendors outside, visitors can and take a trip inside of the Old Woolen Mill, to grab and bite to eat or a festive hot drink at First Bloom Coffee and Bakery.

Cleveland Christmas Parade

The Cleveland Christmas Parade will once again make its way through downtown Cleveland on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. The parade will start at Bradley Central High School and make its way through Downtown Cleveland. Local schools, businesses, organizations, and churches come together as a community to show their Christmas spirit. Viewers may even get a piece of candy handed to them.
